The F355's original exhaust design harbors a critical flaw: under specific driving conditions with the bypass valve open, a dangerous reverse flow/vacuum effect occurs. Hot exhaust gases are suctioned backward through the main catalytic converter and muffler, becoming trapped in a recirculating loop. This generates extreme heat, backpressure, and can damage headers – robbing your engine of power and posing a reliability risk. (Ferrari acknowledged this with a 1996 header modification, though the core issue remained).

CAPRISTO exhausts eliminate this destructive loop through fundamental redesign:
