The all new Type-SS is the shortest variant in our shift knob line up providing a short-throw-like- sporty shifting expierence. At 60mm in length, it's 10mm shorter the the Type-S but maintains the same screw thread surface contact length to ensure a secure fit.
Driving style, seating position as well as seat type can all affect which shift knob is right for you. For example the shortest, Type-SS, may be a great option for those swapping to a bucket seat or lowering seating position. The ergonomic cylindrical design makes the shift knob easy/comfortable to grip especially during extreme driving conditions. It's also much easier to push into gear when compared to spherical type shift knobs. These shift knobs are also sized to fit comfortbale, even when using a racing glove.
The lightweight design also means less load on the shift colloar/spacers, helping to increase the longevity of these parts. Tomei Shift knobs are made from DURACON which retains less heat and is also less reflective than materials such as aluminum, mkaing these shift knobs usable even in extremely hot climates.
