Valve Springs for the Nissan VR38DETT Engine by Tomei
High power generating engines require durable, precision valve springs. Standard oil tempered chrome silicon wire is widely considered to be the best material for manufacturing springs. However, these valve springs are made using an enhanced version of the material. Paired with our highly optimized design, these springs offer increased maximum rpm as well as improved resistance to fatigue and valve 'jump'/'bounce'.
Tomei valve springs go through various treatments/processes to ensure they craft the most durable and resistant valve springs on the market. The springs are Shot Peened to improve resistance to fatigue, Hot Set to ensure they consistently deliver high levels of performance over a long life span, and Nitride Treated to harden and compress the surface of the valve springs.
Tomei uses a unique, optimized design for their Valve Springs. Oval wire valve springs feature greater compression than regular valve springs, allowing them to work with a wider range of 'lift' settings. This makes them compatible with both stock AND aftermarket high lift camshafts. Tomei also combines multiple spring rates into one valve spring, which dramatically increases it's natural frequency. This improves the spring's harmonic resistance which also helps reduce the chance of spring surge.
